Minimizing our impact on the environment is a challenge. At Martin dentistry, we offer high-tech, personalized care while doing as much as we can to reduce waste.
- Digital Paperless Office – By reducing the need for paper charts and un-needed paper copies, we have reduced paper usage by 75% over traditional paper based systems.
- Digital X-rays – Not only do we reduce exposure to radiation, but we do not rely on photochemical agents such as developers or fixers.
- Amalgam/Mercury Waste Collection – in removing old metal fillings that contain mercury, traditionally the waste would literally go down the drain. We utilize a mercury capture system that is not even required by state law.
- CEREC – Optical impressions for crown and bridge mean less non-recyclable plastic, and vinyl is used in the fabrication process. We have been able to reduce our waste by 50%.
- We utilize resin, ceramic, and semi-precious restorative materials whenever possible.
- All business office and computer waste is recycled when possible.
We are able to take these steps to help the environment without sacrificing sterilization techniques or patient care. In fact, we feel that the patient care experienced in enhanced. Quality care with leaving as little behind as possible is our goal.
